Microgreens are tiny edible green vegetables and herbs that grow by absorbing nutrients directly from the seeds, in the presence of light. Precisely because of the miniature size, these little greens are a power-pack of nutrients, vitamins and flavor. Microgreens can be added to any dish you wish, and do not require cooking!
After finishing his Masters degree in Global Sustainability from the University of South Florida, Dario successfully transformed a 40ft. shipping container into a green nursery and created EcoGreens. Inside of the container, called The Box, Dario and his family can manage all the conditions to create the perfect atmosphere to ensure the best possible quality of their produce. The family knows not only how to grow high-quality organic microgreens, but understands how to do it in a sustainable way.
As a family, Dario, Liliana and their three daughters work together to participate in local fresh markets and invite people to visit them at The Box to learn about the process (and taste some samples!)
Their production of microgreens include vegetables such as Arugula, Broccoli, Kale, Radish, Onion, Beet, Amaranth, Peas, Wheat Grass, Basil, Cilantro, Parsley, Fenugreek, Mustard, Salad mix and more upon request.
EcoGreens' fresh microgreens are now available at our store, Life & Food Superstore!
